High Speed 2 (HS2) works on Highways England’s Network

The UK government has committed to constructing HS2; a new high-speed railway which will link London to Birmingham (Phase 1) and then on to Manchester, the East Midlands and Leeds (Phase 2).

Phase 1 of HS2 will have several direct impacts along our motorway and major A roads in the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Northamptonshire (A43) and the South East (M25); new structures, road widening, and realignment will be required so that the high-speed line can effectively cross the network.

These works are being co-ordinated and carried out by HS2 Ltd. Details of the works HS2 plan to carry out on our network are below and for further information you can contact HS2 directly.

Our network is vital to the running of the country and our customers and their safety remain our priority. While HS2 carry out these works we will make every effort to keep you updated and to ensure that impacts to our customers’ journeys, on our network, are kept to a minimum as far as possible. We are committed to ensuring safety on our network and supporting a better-connected future.
