We had to cancel two of our planned consultation events at Mere and Salisbury due to severe weather. To allow extra time to hold these, we have extended the formal consultation period until 23:59, Monday 23 April.

Thursday night: A largely fine evening across the country, with isolated showers dying out through this evening. Later tonight, a band of persistent rain will spread into the southwest, before pushing further into central and eastern parts towards dawn. This is likely to lead to widespread spray with localised puddling of water on prone surfaces.

Friday: A largely wet day as rain continues to spread north and east across the country through the morning. All areas except the far north are likely to see rain. Widespread spray is expected across much of the network, which is likely to lead to some longer journey times. In addition to this, it will be breezy along the south coast with gusts of 30 mph at times. Towards Friday evening, rain will slowly begin to clear away to the east, though it will remain largely cloudy with some isolated outbreaks of rain into Friday night.
