M3 junction 6 Basingstoke bridge support repairs

Scott Gaskin

Works to repair both structures supporting the M3 north and southbound carriageways at the junction 6 Basingstoke Interchange. These works will be closely coordinated with the M3 smart motorway scheme noting their close proximity, to minimise impact upon both road users and the local community particularly where overnight closures are programmed.

We’ll need to fully close the slip roads at junction 6 overnight on week nights. For more information on roadworks, check the roadworks finder.

Diversions routes

During closures of the slip roads at junction 6, the following clearly signed diversions
will be in place, which are suitable for all types of vehicles:

  • M3 junction 6 southbound exit slip road: continue south along the M3 to
junction 7, circumnavigate the roundabout, join the M3 northbound
    carriageway returning to junction 6
  • M3 junction 6 southbound entry slip road:travel north on the M3 to
junction 5, circumnavigate the roundabout to access the M3 southbound
    carriageway
  • M3 junction 6 northbound exit slip road: continue north along the M3 to
junction 5, circumnavigate the roundabout, join the M3 southbound
    carriageway returning to junction 6
  • M3 junction 6 northbound entry slip road: travel south on the M3 to
junction 7, circumnavigate the roundabout to access the M3 northbound
    carriageway

Road users should allow an additional 10 to 15 minutes to their journey times
(depending on your final destination) when following these diversions.
