Works will include resurfacing, lighting, drainage and barrier maintenance.
The work will be carried out using a mixture of overnight full road closures, overnight slip road closures and overnight lane closures. There will also be a section of southbound carriageway reduced to narrow lanes through junction 38 during the day, in which a 50mph temporary speed limit will be in place and this will be supported by speed camera checks. Due to restricted working space, most of the construction work in this section will take place overnight.
When carriageway resurfacing work is being carried out, overnight closures will be in place Monday to Friday, and fully signed diversion routes will be in place during any full closures. There will also be individual overnight full closures required to put in place and remove the temporary safety barrier and narrow lanes throughout the various sections of the route.
People will be able to keep up with the scheme progress and road closures on Twitter using #A1Redhouse.
