A64 improvements

The A64 is the main route to Yorkshire’s coast. We’re investing more than £22 million over this financial year (2019/20) improving journeys and safety for the thousands of drivers who use the A64 every day.

Along the 55-mile route we’ll be carrying out a mixture of around 20 safety and renewal schemes such as crucial safety improvements at Crambeck and Knapton. This is part of our £80 million maintenance improvements investment in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Some of the projects along the A64 are also being developed as part of our cycling and footpath, safety and integration designated fund. This is a special fund of £250m to be spent between 2015 and 2021 to address challenges presented by our network and provide a more accessible, inclusive and integrated network that gives people the freedom to choose their mode of transport.

A summary of the schemes involved is below. Please scroll down for current and upcoming schemes.
