A64 maintenance improvements

The A64 is a major coastal route in North Yorkshire. We’re investing more than £22 million over the next 12 months improving journeys and safety for the thousands of drivers who use the A64 every day.

There will be around 25 schemes being carried out along the 55-mile route including safety improvements at Crambeck and Rillington. This is part of our £80 million maintenance improvements being carried out in Yorkshire and the Humber.

Some of the projects along the A64 are also being developed as part of Highways England’s cycling, safety and integration designated fund. This is a special fund of £250m to be spent between 2015 and 2021 to address challenges presented by our network and provide a more accessible, inclusive and integrated network that gives people the freedom to choose their mode of transport.

During August 2019 we're holding a series of engagement events for residents, businesses and drivers to come along and find out about the improvements we will be making over the next 12 months. You don’t need to register to attend these events.
