We’ll carry out essential work to the A14 junction 37 / A142 bridge. Work includes replacing the existing joints and bearings, installing a new drainage system and filter drains, replacing safety barriers on all approaches to the bridge, installing new bridge parapets and resurfacing.
The following closures will be in place:
- Full closure of the A142 Fordham Road bridge between 8pm and 6am from Monday 19 July to Wednesday 21 July
Traffic travelling southbound along the A142 Fordham Road and wanting to cross the bridge at junction 37 will be diverted onto the A14 eastbound to junction 38, along the A11 northbound to the B1085, return southbound on the A11 and back onto the A14 at junction 38, before re-joining the A142 Fordham Road at junction 37.
Traffic travelling northbound along the A142 Fordham Road and wanting to cross the bridge at junction 37 will be diverted onto the A14 westbound to junction 35 and return on the A14 eastbound to re-join the A142 Fordham Road at junction 37.

We are planning to carry out essential resurfacing works at the A47 Blofield junction. The work is likely to take around 7 weeks, and we'll be working during week nights only starting from 13 September to 5 November, subject to weather conditions.
We are currently agreeing the most suitable diversion routes
We’ll be carrying out essential resurfacing works on A47 at Hardwick Junction. During this work, we’ll also be installing signs, renewing faded road markings and road studs (cat's eyes) as well as carrying out repairs to existing drainage assets.
We plan to complete this work over approximately three weeks from Monday 2 August to Friday 20 August, on weeknights only, working between the hours of 8pm to 6am, subject to weather conditions.
Due to the extensive amount of work on this project, we have split the programme into three phases. We have closely liaised with the Local Highway Authority within the area, to agree the most suitable diversion routes for each phase as detailed below:
Phase 1: Closure of A47 Westbound On-slip from Hardwick Interchange from Monday 2 August to Thursday 12 August (10 nights). Diversion: Traffic will be diverted onto A47 Eastbound until Constitution roundabout, where they can re-join A47 Westbound.
Phase 2: Closure of A47/A10 southbound access on Friday 13 August (1 night). Diversion: Traffic will be diverted from A47 Hardwick Interchange eastbound, along A47 to A47/A1122 roundabout. It will follow the A1122 westbound until the A1122/A10 roundabout at Downham Market, where traffic can re-join the A10.
Phase 3: Closure of A47 eastbound exit slip on Hardwick roundabout from Monday 16 August to Friday 20 August (5 nights). Northbound traffic travelling from the A10 wanting to join the A149 will be diverted via the A47 westbound to Saddle Bow roundabout to then follow the A148/ Scania Way/ Greenyard Way before joining the A149. Diversion: Traffic coming from the A149 will be diverted via the A149/ Greenyard Way roundabout to then follow Scania Way/ A148 before joining the A47 at Saddle Bow roundabout.
