We're will be updating and installing signage so we can start using emergency diversion routes along the A14 and A45 corridor.

We'll work overnight, from 8pm and 6am Monday to Friday, from 8pm and 6am. To carry out the work safely, we'll close the entry sliproad from Brackmills onto the A45 westbound and the exit slip road to Queen Eleanor Interchange from the A45 Westbound with lane closures on the A45 westbound. During the day we will keep the carriageway open as usual.

We will do our very best to complete the work as quickly as possible, keeping disturbances and noise to a minimum.

Diversion routes

A45 Westbound entry slip from Brackmills - Traffic will be directed to join the A45 eastbound, exit at Barnes Meadow Interchange, re-join the A45 westbound from here and continue underneath the Brackmills junction where diversion ends.

A45 Westbound exit slip to Queen Eleanor Interchange - Traffic will be directed to continue along the A45 westbound to the junction with M1 junction 15. Continue all the way around the roundabout and re-join the A45 travelling eastbound, exiting at Queen Eleanor Interchange.

We will be carrying out works to combine essential maintenance, technical surveys and testing in advance of several planned maintenance and improvement schemes.

The work will be carried out overnight Monday to Friday, from 8pm and 6am and will require the closure of the A52 in both directions, between QMC roundabout and Priory roundabout, with lane closures on the approach to the works. During the day we will keep the carriageway open as usual. Some weekend working may also be required.

Diversions

There are two diversion routes depending upon which closure is being approached. All diversion routes will be signed.

A52 Derby Road closure between the Priory roundabout and QMC roundabout.

The diversion route can be used in either direction and follows A6464 Woodside Road, onto A6005 University Boulevard, join A52 Clifton Boulevard travelling north, diversion ends at the QMC roundabout.

Exit and entry slip road closures at Dunkirk Island

Traffic will be unable to either exit or enter the A52 Clifton Road at this interchange. It will be directed to travel on the A52 Clifton Road southbound, exit at the A453 Queens Drive (signed City Centre) and re-join the A52 Clifton Road northbound to the exit at Dunkirk Island where traffic requiring the A52 Clifton Road northbound remains on the main carriageway and those diverted from the closed southbound exit to leave the main A52 Clifton Road.

We will do our very best to complete the work as quickly as possible, keeping disturbances and noise to a minimum.

We’re carrying out essential carriageway maintenance work to the M1, on the northbound and southbound carriageways, between junctions 23a and 25. We’ll resurface sections of the carriageway and refresh road markings, to provide a smoother and safer carriageway for customers.

We’ll work on one side of the carriageway at a time. Work will start on the southbound carriageway, switching to the northbound carriageway approximately halfway through the scheme.

Works will take place overnight, from Monday 15 March 2021 until Tuesday 20 April 2021. We will stop work over the Easter weekend from Thursday 1 April and resume on Tuesday 6 April.

We will work Monday to Saturday, between the hours of 8pm and 6am. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, lane closures will be in place until approximately 9am.

In addition to this, we will also carry out works on Sunday 21 March.

During the works it will be necessary to have a few slip road closures, which will include the following at various dates:

  • junction 24a southbound exit slip road closed (diversion via junction 24)
  • junction 25 southbound entry slip road closed (diversion via junction 26)
  • junction 24 northbound entry slip road closed (diversion via A50 Sawley roundabout to junction 24)
  • junction 25 northbound exit slip road closed (diversion via junction 26)

During the slip road closures, we’ll put in place a diversion route which we’ve agreed with the Local Authority. The slip roads will remain open outside of our working hours.

Please note that all our planned roadworks may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

We will be carrying out work to protect the structure from water damage and prevent further disruptive repairs in the future

The work will be carried out under full weekend closures from 8pm Friday to 6am Monday and will require the closure of the north bridge over the M1 at junction 20, Lutterworth.

We will do our very best to complete the work as quickly as possible, keeping disturbances and noise to a minimum.

Diversion route

NORTH BRIDGE CLOSURE: Local traffic from the A4303 at M1 junction 20 will be diverted through Lutterworth on the A426. Turn onto the Gilmorton Road then onto Lutterworth Road heading east to Kimcote. From Kimcote follow Walton Road into Gurney Lane and then Kilworth Road. At North Kilworth travel westbound on the A4304 Lutterworth Road until, at junction 20 Lutterworth, diversion ends.

Southbound motorway traffic approaching junction 20 from the A4304 will be directed to join the M1 southbound at Junction 20 as normal. Southbound motorway traffic approaching junction 20 from the A4303 will be directed to join the M1 northbound at junction, exit at junction 21 and rejoin the M1 Southbound and diversion route will end when they pass under Junction 20 heading southbound.

All diversion routes will be signed.

We’ll be carrying out structural maintenance work to Spital Road Bridge (also known as A1 Blyth Flyover) from the 26 June 2021 until 3 September 2021.

The work will include concrete repairs and installing cathodic protection installation; which is a technique used to protect metallic structures.

What is happening and when?

A1 Blyth Flyover on Spital Road will be closed completely from 28 June 2021 until the work is complete, which will be in early September. Work on the bridge will take place during the day.

We will also be closing the A1, one carriageway at a time, beneath the bridge from 26 June 2021, while work is carried out overnight.

Overnight works will take place Monday to Friday, 8pm to 6am. Outside of these hours the A1 and A1(M) remain open as normal.

  • A1 northbound will be closed overnight from 26 July 2021 for 10 nights
  • A1 southbound will be closed overnight from 09 August 2021 for 11 nights

We’d encourage drivers to stick to speed limits and follow appropriate signage to ensure the safety of those working on site and fellow road users.

We will do our very best to complete the work as quickly as possible, keeping disturbances and noise to a minimum.

Diversion Routes

Clearly signed diversion routes, agreed with the Local Authority, will be in place during any closures and we’d advise all motorists to stick to them as they have been chosen with both suitability and safety in mind.

We’ll be repainting the fire-damaged paintwork on the Alfreton Road bridge, over the A38 northbound carriageway, at Broadmeadows, Alfreton. We will be assessing the bridge for any damage that may have been caused by the fire. To minimise disruption as much as possible, works will take place overnight, from 26 July 2021 until late September 2021.

We will work Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8pm and 6am. During these hours:

  • The A38 northbound will be closed between Watchorn roundabout and M1 junction 28
  • The A38 southbound will have a lane 2 restriction in place between M1 junction 28 and boundary of works
