Feedback from the 130+ SMEs and local businesses who attended our recent  virtual ‘Meet the buyer’ event has been really positive, with more than 80% agreeing that the regional economy will be enhanced through the A303 Stonehenge improvements.

The event was the first in a series of activities before we start preliminary works later this year. Members of the project team and our contractors Wessex Archaeology and Osborne talked about the different opportunities for businesses to join our supply chain.

The first step for any business interested in working with the project is to sign up with our A303 Stonehenge Business Directory. Since its launch in December and we’ve had 161 companies register already – but we still want to hear from more.

David Bullock, our Project Manager said: “We are delighted by the response so far, and we’d like to see the number of participants double again in the coming weeks to enable local and regional SMEs to gain access to business opportunities within the scheme.”

We’re working closely with many local business organisations and have also  partnered with the Supply Chain Sustainability School to provide free online training to small businesses.

Robin Trevett of Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce said: “A project such as this presents a host of opportunities for local business, something both the Salisbury and District Chamber of Commerce and Salisbury Business Improvement District fully support.

“We look forward to seeing future events as the project develops and ultimately, the opportunity for our members to play their part in this major project.”

If you want to get involved and would like your details to be passed over to our contractors – sign up to the A303 Stonehenge Business Directory on the Supply chain webpage.
