Our ways of working
We have approximately 600 staff working on Lower Thames Crossing, with approximately one third of these based at our London office. We also have staff based in 26 other locations across the UK in offices such as Swindon, Guildford, Croydon as well as internationally. Our skill sets range from planning and cost management to technical design and ground investigation.
Our people are our most valuable resource and we continually look for ways in which we can support and empower them to deliver their best for the project. We hold people to account and reward and recognise those whose behaviour exemplifies our project values.
We have put in place training and development programmes and policies and procedures to support staff through their employee lifecycle.
We have a dedicated People team focused primarily on facilitating the ways of working that will make the project a ‘great place to work’. We ensure we have the right people in the right roles being supported, developed and engaged throughout their time on the project. The scale and complexity of this project makes managing an integrated and high performing team an essential aspect of its success.
- Our People Strategy – based around four key principles (accountable leadership, reward for performance, customer focussed delivery and capable employees), our People Strategy focuses on supporting your engagement, wellbeing, and making sure we’re a diverse and inclusive business.
- Calling All Colleagues – an hour-long call featuring various members of the Executive team as they talk through current issues from across the business, and answer your questions!
- The Good Deed Feed – a section of our intranet dedicated to showing good and feeling good; you can write a post saying thanks to a colleague or praise a job well done.
- Learning and development – helping you to develop is key to a high performing organisation, so we offer a range of support programmes and opportunities for career growth in line with your aspirations. Explore our learning and development opportunities.
Be sure to explore our other important initiatives, such as employee networks, and our work to support everyone’s health and wellbeing.
