You can more details about the maintenance schemes taking place in the East Midlands below:

We will be carrying out essential maintenance work on the A43 Ardley roundabout and adjoining exit / entry slip roads. The roadworks will involve partial reconstruction of the carriageway and drainage improvements. Other works include replacing high friction surfacing, damaged kerbs, lines and studs as well as other general maintenance.

Once completed, all road users will benefit from improved road safety and a smoother driving experience.

Work is due to start in early June 2020 and is scheduled for completion by the beginning of July 2020. To keep our programme for these works as short as possible and to minimise disruption to the local community, we will work:

  • between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday
  • between 9pm and 6am on Fridays
  • from 9pm Friday to 6am Monday (full weekend closure on a selected weekend)

To maintain a safe environment for our workforce and motorists, we will need to use a mixture of lane and carriageway closures while we work. As our drainage works will involve deep excavation of the carriageway, we will need to complete this work over a weekend and close the road for the duration while we do so.

During all road closures we will put in place fully signed diversion routes which have been agreed with the Local Authority. All carriageways will be open, as usual, when we are not working. We will make sure that access to businesses and residences is maintained wherever possible.

Please note that all our planned works are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

If you have any questions about this work, please contact our Public Liaison Officer, Leanne Gibson, via email: EMADcomms@kier.co.uk or telephone: 07768 796542.

Diversion routes

We'll be carrying out essential maintenance work on the A5 between Towcester roundabout and Weedon.

During this comprehensive scheme of work, we'll carry out tree and vegetation clearance, repair and replace damaged drains, clear and re-profile drainage ditches, resurface and re-align the carriageway, renew the footway and damaged kerbs, refresh road markings, install skid resistance surfacing and install road studs.

Once completed, all road users will benefit from improved road safety and a smoother carriageway.

To keep our programme for these works as short as possible and to minimise disruption to the local community, residents, businesses and road users, we will work:

  • overnight, Monday to Friday (week night closures)
  • between Friday evenings and Monday mornings (full weekend closures on selected weekends)

Please note that all our planned roadworks may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

To maintain a safe environment for our workforce and customers, the A5 will be closed in phases between the Towcester roundabout and Weedon during our working hours. During these closures we'll put in place fully signed diversion routes which have been agreed with the local authority.

If you have any questions about this work, please contact our Public Liaison Officer, Mike Healy, by email: infoA5jackshill@forkers.com or telephone: 07964 114 623.

Diversion routes

We will be carrying out essential carriageway and bridge maintenance work to the M1 from the Crick interchange at junction 18 to the Misterton interchange at junction 20.

During our scheme of work, we will be putting in new specialist material designed to protect the structure underneath the road from water seeping into it. By doing this work now, we can prevent more disruptive roadworks in the future. We will also be replacing approximately 2 miles of the road surface on the northbound and southbound carriageways.

Once completed, our work will protect the structure of the Shawell Walcote bridge and provide a smoother journey for motorists.

Diversion routes

We will be carrying out essential renewal works to the waterproofing system across West Meadow viaduct and Diseworth Long Whatton Bridge, located between junction 23a and junction 23 on the M1 southbound carriageway.

During our work, we will plane off the existing carriageway surface, remove and replace the existing waterproofing system and resurface the carriageway.

Once completed, our works will prevent water leaking onto the bridge decks, which in turn will protect the structures.

To maintain a safe environment for our workforce and road users, we will put in place two full weekend closures on the M1 southbound carriageway from junction 23a to junction 23. We will work:

  • 10pm on Friday 1 May 2020 to 6am on Monday 4 May 2020
  • 10pm on Friday 15 May 2020 to 6am on Monday 18 May 2020

Please note that all our planned roadworks may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

During these road closures, fully signed diversion routes will be in place.

If you have any questions about this work, please contact our Public Liaison Officer, Leanne Gibson via email: EMADcomms@kier.co.uk or telephone: 07768 796542.
