Engaging with you about our proposals
Below you can find details of the consultations that have taken place for the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet scheme, asking for your views and feedback on our proposals.
In 2019 we consulted on our proposals to improve journeys between Milton Keynes and Cambridge with a new 10 mile dual carriageway between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts. We also wanted your views on a number of new and improved junctions along the route.
We held public consultation events throughout the community and invited you to have your say via our consultation page.

We asked for feedback on our proposals to improve journeys by creating a new dual carriageway and improve the Black Cat junction on the A1.
We put forward four options to improve the route and 3 options to upgrade the Black Cat roundabout.
• Over 4,000 people and organisations took part
• 89% agreed we need to improve journeys on this route
• 83% of respondents chose the Orange route
• 60% preferred Option C for Black Cat roundabout
